The town of Hoboken, New Jersey has such a cool vibe, and it is without a doubt one of the best hang out spots in New Jersey. It radiates charm and personality, and the best part is that Hoboken ranks as the second most dog friendly town in the state of New Jersey. How cool is that? I know you are probably wondering which town is number one. The answer is Cape May my friends!
Talking about dogs, this past Saturday I was at Pier 13 Hoboken for the Canines & Cocktails event. Pier 13 is a family friendly beer garden that offers a variety of food, drinks, and activities to residents and visitors alike. Dogs are always welcome! However, on a regular day dogs are not allowed on the grass part of Pier 13. But this was not a regular day! It was a day to enjoy a delicious cocktail, hang out with your best four-legged friends, discover local small pet related businesses, and the support dog rescue organization Pitter Patter Puppy House located in Bergen County, NJ.
The weather was absolutely gorgeous! It was perfect day for an outdoor event! People were sitting down, enjoying their friends company, sipping a cold beer or a cocktail, and playing with puppies. Puppies and booze, make everyone happy! A perfect combination if you ask me 🙂
This adorable mixed breed puppy was one of two puppies who found a forever home that day. New pet parents were filled with joy! They came in for a drink and walked out with a new family member.
Axel, a terrier chihuahua mix puppy also got to go home with his new dad. A happy day for both puppies, and a new beginning for the pet parents!
There are still a few puppies and a couple of adult dogs looking for a forever home. For more information about them please contact Donna Scardelli, founder of Pitter Patter Puppy House.
If you are not ready to adopt a pup but still want to make a difference in these dogs lives, the dog rescue organization could always use your help. They are in need of new foster homes, volunteers, and donations of both money and products. Visit their website to find out what you could donate!! Help save a dog’s life! Your donations matter!!
Look at this angelic looking little girl. It seems like she loves her doggie very much, right? Except that is not her dog!! She was passing by and I assume she could not resist showing her love to him! What a cutie!!!!
I also have to mention the local vendors who were part of this awesome day. Kara E Mohr pet illustration artist was there celebrating Canines & Cocktails event. Some of their work includes pet portraits, illustrated GIFs, custom holiday cards, water color paintings, color pencil sketches and marker sketches. Check out their website to see their beautiful work!
The pups really enjoyed stopping by the Little L’s dog treats booth to try a free sample of their yummy all natural artisan dog treats. All made in NYC!!!
The fashion forward dogs enjoyed the booth of Little Bear Dog Apparel. Their outfits are super cute and everything is made in America, to be exact every piece is handmade in NYC. I particularly fell in love with their little mascot. Super adorable!
And a big thanks to Jessica, the Pier 13 Hoboken event coordinator for putting this amazing event together. It was fun! I can’t wait for the next Canines & Cocktails event!
Thanks for reading it! Until next time…
